Bathroom Update - Before and After

By Don

Is it time to update your Master Bathroom? Here are a few questions to ask yourself to see if you current style may be a little outdated:

Do I have a wallpaper border near the ceiling? Are my fixtures made of brass? Does my shower glass have a bulky frame? Do I have a wire shower caddy to hold all of my shampoo bottles? Do I have a Jacuzzi tub with jets that never get used?

Take a look at the photos below to see how a few steps can transform your bathroom into the present.

On this project we removed the 12x12 floor tile and replaced with 12x24 tile in an offset pattern. The framed tub was removed and replaced with a soaker tub. The cultured marble backsplash replaced with drywall and that pesky border was removed.

In the shower the cultured marble walls are now subway tile - notice the niche to hold the shampoos. The floor is now mat tile. We reduced the size of the step-over curb. Blue glass blocks are gone and the shower is wrapped in frameless glass.

The changes made to this bathroom are simple and elegant and will last until wallpaper borders are fashionable again.
